Opening Prayer

The meeting began at 7:48 p.m. with a prayer by Miss Scheer.

Miss Scheer

-         Memorandums will be sent home in regard to dropping/retrieving students off at the school while the Parish parking is utilized for the Parish Festival taking place in mid June.

-         Parents need to keep children focused on finals and end of year work.

-         Thanks all parents and volunteers who have helped make the 2009/2010 school year a productive and successful one!

Treasurer’s Report

-         $41,000.00 in account; $40,000.00 to go to the school.  More funds expected in after International Festival.

Plant Sale

-         Approximately $600.00 was earned.  Some plants were not sold (the silver-leafed, non-flowering plants were a hard sell.)

International Festival

-         This year, new countries will be represented:  Japan, Vietnam, Syria, and Russia!  There is no rain date for this event.

8th Grade Pin Ceremony

-         Volunteers are needed for this event.  Set up is for this Saturday, June 5th, and servers will be needed on June 6th.  Contact Mrs. Della Rocca for additional information.

Flowers and cards were provided to parents/board members whose children are graduating this month.

Voting/Elections

Some of the Committee positions votes in question have been tabled to September’s meeting, as not all were present to agree or disagree to co-chairing.  Therefore, a listing of those officially elected to Committee positions will be available at the beginning of the 2010/2011 school year.

For the Executive Board, both Michele Guadagno and Belinda Rosario tentatively agreed to co-chair as President, but a new person would need to participate in order to continue the position.  Mrs. Yvonne Neto has been elected as our Parliamentarian, Mrs. Chris Keyes has been elected as our Treasurer, and Vanessa Grande has been elected as our Secretary.

Mrs. Maniego and Mrs. Earl graciously accepted to help out ex-officio for the Gift Wrapping/International Festival and Trash and Treasure Sales respectively.

Positions that still need a coordinator/volunteers:

Barnes and Noble Book Fair

HFS Walkathon

Cookie Dough Sale

Cultural Activities

Movie Night*

Bingo*

Winter Family Fun Night/Brain Challenge*

Easter Pancake Breakfast & Easter Egg Hunt*

*  Newer events we would like to try at the school.

The meeting adjourned at 8:55 p.m.

Respectively submitted by Vanessa Grande.
